In early 2010, the Green Family excitedly began discussing opening a small group family home for the elderly. With everyone on board, Howard and Brenda Green purchased the property in the summer of 2010 and began renovating and remodeling to beautify and bring the building up to code. The building had previously served as prior AFC homes, a doctor’s office and even a large residential rental home. The renovation process included updating of all utilities, the addition of a state-of-the-art fire monitoring and sprinkler system, creation of resident bedroom space, and of course, all the fun stuff; flooring, paint, furniture and decor!
New Life Assisted Living Centers have continued to expand locations. Additional assisted living homes have been created to serve the greater Lansing community with quality AFC care in beautiful accommodations. Since the renovation of the first East Haslett and Dewitt locations, Howard and Brenda have purchased and renovated an additional location in West Haslett, as well as two AFC homes on the west side of Lansing near Grand Ledge. One of the Lansing assisted living homes on Lansing’s West side house 16 people and the other home that houses 19 also offers a secure entry for residents that require additional safety.
